USS Intrepid was in for maintenance on Sept 1962 and did not finish until Dec 1962, therefore did not participate in the Cuban Blockade. HS-3 did, but on board the USS Wasp.

My brother Tom Wallace was on the Intrepid as an Electronics Technician (Radar/Sonar) during the VietNam War. I was in the Army there at the same time and flew out to the Intrepid in Oct. '68 while they were doing a resupply with a destroyer on the other side of the resupply ship. It made the Stars and Stripes that week/month. have some pictures of he and I aboard and some with the Captain. I went out there to the ship to discuss whether either one of us should go home under the "Sullivan Rule'. Neither of us did. He (my brother Tom) passed away about a year and a half ago. Just wondering if anyone remembers him.
